If you or someone you know falls into that certain demographic of being both a hardcore Mazda enthusiast and a gamer, then you’ve probably already heard all about the Mazda LM55. A gorgeous race car, it’s the latest concept to roll out of the Mazda design department. The LM55 also happens to star in the hit racing game Gran Turismo.

Looking at the new Mazda LM55, if you think to yourself “agility with elegance,” then you’ve hit the nail on the head. That’s exactly what designers said they were going for. The design of the LM55 is also a nod the Mazda 787B race car, winner of the 1991 crown at Le Mans, from whence the LM55 also derives part of its name.
While the 787B had under its hood the much-lauded proprietary rotary engine, no one yet knows for sure if the LM55 will feature the same kind of powertrain. But we do know that the LM55 concept features Mazda’s SKYACTIV technology, as it’s written across the rear fin.
While the Mazda Gran Turismo concept was never meant for mass production, it’s nice to know you can still get behind the wheel, or rather, game controller!
