Mazda may not officially be a luxury brand, but that doesn’t mean it can’t win luxury awards. In fact, EBONY Magazine gave a luxury award for the 2016 Mazda CX-9. The CX-9 earned the “Pretty Boy” award from among a new fleet of luxury-oriented vehicles arriving in the market.

With its all-new Signature trim level, the CX-9 moves upmarket and delivers Nappa leather seating with rosewood and real aluminum trim throughout the interior. On the outside, the CX-9 beautifully wears Mazda’s KODO-Soul of Motion design theme, which is enhanced by the new Machine Gray color, giving the crossover a liquid metal-like appearance.

“From its proud grille to its dual exhaust, and everything in between, we’ve designed a vehicle that paints the direction for where we want the Mazda brand to go, now and in the future,” said Julien Montousse, director of design, Mazda North American Operations, in a statement. “We’re honored to be recognized by EBONY, as we believe CX-9 is a bold crossover that makes a statement in its segment.”
