Mazda made a monumental announcement last week, revealing that they auto company is donating nearly $5 million to a diverse group of select charities as a result of the “Mazda Drive for Good” event. This number is a whopping 79.4 percent increase from the numbers raised in 2014.

Additionally, Mazda employees themselves as well as dealers all across the country are donating their time to volunteer service opportunities, accumulating more than 66,000 hours of elbow grease to various organizations.

The Drive for Good event that spawned all of this money and man power ran for slightly over a month, and during that time, Mazda donated $150 for every new Mazda vehicle purchased as well as one hour of charitable service, with the new owners choosing the charity.

It’s no coincidence that the Mazda Drive for Good event took place during one of the most financially demanding times of the year for those in need. In fact in the month of December we donated a portion of all of our sales to The Salvation Army Boys and Girls Club of High Point!
