Mazda3 Named Kiplinger Best New Car Value Winner

When you first purchase a new car, it’s always important to consider how the vehicle will hold its value over time. While many cars lose their value as they get older, there are some that retain their value long past their prime.

According to Kiplinger Personal Finance magazine, the Mazda3 just happens to be one of the vehicles that are valuable even after it is driven off the dealer lot. The magazine recently named this spunky hatchback a Kiplinger Best New Car Value Winner, making it a top choice in the industry.

Mazda Tops EPA List for Best Average Fuel Efficiency

When it comes to fuel economy, Mazda knows its stuff. The brand was named number one according to a Fuel Economy Trends report released by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), which examined the average fuel efficiency of various automakers. This is Mazda’s second consecutive year at the top of the list.

“Mazda has never been one to rest on its laurels, continuing to work hard, innovate and engineer vehicles that offer class-leading fuel economy in nearly every segment it competes in,” said Jim O’Sullivan, Mazda North American Operations president and CEO.

“Because the internal combustion engine is still used in more than 90 percent of the cars and SUVs sold in North America today, we chose to focus on perfecting both the operation and performance of the engine, as well as all the other systems and components that affect efficiency. Offering this technology – at an affordable price – to every consumer will help to improve our overall environmental impact.”

Mazda tops EPA list for best average fuel efficiencyThanks in large part to its innovative SKYACTIV® TECHNOLOGY, Mazda was able to reduce its fleet-wide adjusted CO2 emissions to 316 and improve its average fuel efficiency to 28.1 mpg. No other automaker in the study can boast such impressive numbers.

Mazda Earns Title of Most Improved in 2014 APEAL Study

J.D. Power’s 2014 Automotive Performance, Execution, and Layout (APEAL) Study has named Mazda the most improved non-premium brand, as the automaker climbs from 16th to 9th place of all global automakers.

The APEAL Study surveys more than 86,000 purchasers and lessees of new 2014 model-year cars and light trucks within the first 90 days of ownership to determine customer satisfaction and how gratifying a new car is to own and drive.Mazda earns most improved brand title from APEAL Study

Mazda earned 776 points in 2013 and 821 points in 2014, and the seven-place bump to number nine represents the biggest jump for any automaker this year, along with the largest index-score improvement within non-premium brands.

“One of the main principles in our DNA is ‘Kaizen,’ which is a Japanese term that means ‘continuous improvement through wisdom and ingenuity,’” said Jim O’Sullivan, president and CEO, MNAO. “Mazda’s improvement in this year’s 2014 J.D. Power APEAL study shows that our continued focus on improving vehicles through ongoing evaluations and customer feedback is changing their opinion of the brand, and for the better. Customers are more satisfied with their new Mazda than ever before.”

All Mazda vehicles equipped with Skyactiv Technology and the KODO design language performed exceptionally well this year, with the 2014 Mazda6 receiving the highest honors in the Midsize Car segment, scoring 21 points above the segment average.
