Since the next-generation reveal, the 2016 Mazda MX-5 Miata has been one of the most highly anticipated cars to hit the market this year. While specifications have yet to be released, we have been promised that the new model will be lighter and more powerful than before. The 2016 Miata will sport a much more aggressive design than years before with bold lines throughout, and we still get the nearly perfect weight distribution.
British Tuner BBR got their hands on a Mazda3 in order to access the 2.0L Skyactiv engine that will also be in the MX-5 Miata. The 2.0L engine on the stock 3 produces 155 hp and 150 lb-ft, then with some simple bolt on components the tuner was able to produce 200 bhp. While they haven’t been able to produce the same results on the MX-5, this allows them to experiment until the car is available.
The British tuner has also been developing some slight body modifications in anticipation such as tinted lights, front and rear lip spoilers, side sills, and a small rear spoiler. If you want to learn more about the 2016 Mazda MX-5 Miata or see the 2015 Miata, call Parks Mazda today!
